Ministry denies reports of rumours

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has denied reports circulated in the social media that it has issued a warning to stop buying a few number of products because they had pig derivatives. The ministry in a statement said that it follows issues related to the health and safety of consumers, and its specialists will take samples of these products and subject them to tests to ensure that they are free of prohibited substances. The ministry urged everyone to find the right source of any information before any their publication and circulation through various channels. Right from the morning on Wednesday, there were reports that a few popular consumer products have been banned form the market for containing prohibited derivatives.
