Ministers discuss anti-terrorism measures

CAIRO: The Sultanate participated in the 33rd session of the Arab Justice Ministers Council, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo. Shaikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah al Khalili, Minister of Justice, chaired the Sultanate’s delegation.


The ministers discussed topics on the agenda, most importantly the anti-terrorism, the Arab Convention against Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism, the updating of the Model Arab Anti-Terrorism Law and the recommendations of the joint committee of experts and representatives of justice and interior ministries in the Arab countries to discuss the issue of criminalisation of ransom.


The Council also discussed the draft rules of procedure for the network of judicial cooperation in the field of combating terrorism and organised crime in order to promote and develop judicial cooperation among Arab countries in combating terrorism and organised crime. — ONA
