Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs received in his office at Mu'askar Bait Al Falaj today Vice Admiral Timothy Fraser, Chief of the Joint Operations (CJO) of the British Army, who is currently visiting the Sultanate.


The two sides discussed a range of issues of common concern.


They reviewed fields of the existing military cooperation between the two friendly countries, as well as the ongoing preparations for the Swift Sword 3 Exercise between the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) and the British Army scheduled to be executed in the Sultanate during the second half of October 2018.


The Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs stressed the importance of this exercise for both the Omani and British sides in a manner that achieves the envisaged goals and depicts the level of the strong historic ties between the two friendly countries and military cooperation between their armed forces.


The Chief of the Joint Operations (CJO) of the British Army praised preparations for the Swift Sword 3 Exercise and its message that represents the extent of existing cooperation between the two friendly countries.


The meeting was attended by Air Vice Marshal Mattar bin Ali al Obaidani, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) and the UK Ambassador to the Sultanate. --ONA
