MUSCAT: Muscat Grand Mall (MGM), in celebration of Eid and in order to make the upcoming school season even more exciting for children, launched a new Kids Mania event on August 28. The 12-day event, which features non-stop excitement with events such as quizzes, contests, drawings, and much more and has been visited by hundreds of children every day, comes to a close on September 8. MGM set up the central atrium of the mall to accommodate the children and the range of activities that are being conducted over the course of the event.

These included 14 activities in total, split into two groups. The first set of seven activities have already been completed, having been conducted throughout the first six days of the event. These included the likes of ‘Hygiene Control Teaching’, where children learnt about basic hygiene; ‘Science 101’, that tasked children with creating useful items from random toy parts; ‘My Engineer’, where children learnt to assemble broken toys and more; ‘Q for Quiz’, which was a Quiz specifically for children, including a buzzer and quiz master; ‘Little Artist’, which was an art corner, ‘Little Doctors’, where children were provided with lab coats and statoscopes and were taught of how to check each other’s heart beat and more; and lastly ‘Math Geek’ where children were taught about shapes and how to cut out geometric shapes from paper.

The second set of activities, which are currently ongoing and will continue until the event comes to a close on September 08, saw the return of ‘Q for Quiz’ and ‘Little Artist’. However, the remaining five have been replaced with ‘Safe Drivers’, ‘Puppet Mania’, ‘Fantasy Land’, ‘Little Chef’, and ‘MC of the Day’. ‘Safe Drivers’ provides an avenue for children to learn about traffic safety while ‘Puppet Mania’ teaches them how to make puppets of their own and showcase them on the puppet stage. ‘Fantasy Land’ provides children with a stage and super hero costumes to take photographs on. ‘Little Chef’ teaches children how to decorate cupcakes, while the final activity — the ‘MC of the Day’, sees one Child at a time try their hand at working with the event Emcee, and even be the Emcee of the event for ten minutes. In addition, the event is being supported by McDonalds, New York Fries, Happy Land, and Booba Bubble Tea, who provided prizes for the children participating in the event.

This event follows in the footsteps of other similar and highly popular children’s events organised by the mall in recent years, including the popular ‘MGM Gift Box’ event organised just a few months ago.
