Met Dept forecasts rains in coastal Oman

The latest images of radar and satellites show the presence of rain clouds over the Sea of Oman off the coasts of Northern, South-East, Muscat and also over the coast of Arabian Sea. There is also the possibilities for rains (light to heavy) in these regions, including Mussandam, said Oman Meteorology.


The analysis in the national multi-hazard early warning center predicts that it will last until Monday (December 18 ) with expected isolated rain, occasionally thundershowers, associated with fresh wind and hail affecting gradually the governorates of Musandam, Muscat, Al- Buraimi, Al Dhahira, North and South Al Batinah, Al Dakhliya and North and South Al Sharqiya with chances of cloud development and isolated rain over the governorates Al-Wusta and Dhofar.


Sea state expected to be moderate to rough along the coastal areas of Musandam and Oman Sea with maximum wave height ranging between 2 to 3 m.


The public authority for civil aviation advices public to take an extreme precautions during the flow of rain, avoid crossing wadis , avoid sailing during the weather condition and follow the latest weather bulletins.
