Mercury levels touch single digit in some parts

Muscat, Jan 20 - Temperatures touched the single digit in many parts of the Sultanate with a dip in two to three degrees in desert. Buraimi, Ibri and Yanqul recorded some of the lowest temperatures.
Places experiencing temperatures lower than 10 degrees Celsius are: Jabal Shams (2 degrees), Saiq (5 degrees), Fahud and Yanqul (8 degrees), Ibri and Buraimi (9 degrees) and Adam 10 degrees. The Met Office has cautioned motorists about reduced visibility because of fog and dust storms.
It has issued an advisory on dust and sandstorm in Adam, Ibra, Fahud, Bahla, Mudhaibi, Duqm, Ibri, Sunaynah, Nizwa, Haima, Qarn Alam, Zamaim and Buraimi.
Late night to early morning low level clouds or fog formations are likely along parts of the coastal areas of the Arabian Sea.
Hazy weather is being experienced in the desert areas. The prevailing north-westerly wind has seen a two- to three-degree dip in temperature in desert and cooler temperatures in other parts.
Muscat has been experiencing low-level clouds. There are chances of late night to early morning low level clouds or fog formations along parts of coastal areas of Sea of Oman and Al Dhahirah Governorate.
