Muscat: The training programme on “ Communication Skills with Media’ organised by the Ministry of Information was launched on Wednesday by Dr Abdulmunim bin Mansour bin Said al Hasani, Minister of Information. “The training programme organised by the Ministry in the past two years included a number of practical exercises that enhance communication and media skills of the staff of public organisations, said the Minister of Information. “The 5th stage follows a series of training sessions for public employees who have been selected through direct cooperation between the Ministry of Information and the relevant public organisations.” ‘The 5th stage of the programme comes under the theme ‘national campaigns, practical exercises’, he said.
Badr bin Abdullah al Hinai, Director-General of Communications at the Governmental Services Communication Centre of the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers, said that the centre is in charge of developing the public communication system to reach out all sections of the society.
Dr Obaid bin Said al Shaqsi made a presentation on ‘national campaigns, practical examples’. He highlighted the organisations involved in carrying out campaigns, the messages used in such campaigns, how to build preventive campaigns and the circumstances surrounding media campaign and the media message content. The programme was attended by Ali bin Khalfan al Jabri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Information and a number of officials at the Ministry. — ONA
