MEC students participate in ‘Slush 2016’

MUSCAT: A student delegation consisting of ten students from Middle East College (MEC) participated in the International Conference ‘Slush 2016’, which was held in Helsinki, Finland, from November 1 to December1,  2016. The event’s objective was to bring together entrepreneurs, startups, large companies, media corporations and investors from all over the world. Over 17 thousand participants from 124 different countries, 2336 startups, 1146 investors and 610 journalists attended this prestigious event, to support the youth and spread the culture of entrepreneurship.


Sara al Balushi, one of the participants in the delegation, spoke about the importance of participating in such major events and activities saying, “I am very happy for having got this opportunity to participate in Slush 2016. It is a life-changing experience that gives the participants a chance to meet famous people and experts from different fields like entrepreneurship, technology, inventions, arts and music, to name a few. Moreover, it is an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences through working with teams comprising members from different countries and various cultures. This contributes towards building a strong personality and enhancing knowledge, talent and skills. I would like to thank MEC for providing me the chance to have this wonderful experience which has added a lot to my knowledge and will help me to improve myself in different facets of my life”.


“The international conference ‘Slush 2016’ is a great opportunity for the entrepreneurs and startups to gather and share their experiences with others. The conference was attended by almost 165 speakers from all over the world. Such an experience has a very positive effect on the youth and inspires them to achieve their goals”, says Talal al Rashdi, one of the delegates from MEC .
