MUSCAT: Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) hosted a Career Fair on Tuesday on its campus in association with three other colleges.

The fair was inaugurated under the patronage of Sayyid Dr Adham bin Turki a Said who was the guest of honour for the opening ceremony. The colleges which partnered MCBS are Muscat College, Waljat College and Arab Open University. The event included a job fair opened to the public, availing opportunities to businesses and companies a platform to meet with talented students.

Students also had the opportunity to interact with employers and get an insight into the labour market’s needs and employers’ expectations. The companies discussed with students about training services and internships to develop their skills, abilities and professional experience. “This is the opportunity for students to know what is available in the labour market. It is also an opportunity for companies to look into talents and skills available in the colleges and universities,” Sayyid Dr Adham told the media during the fair.

“Participants also have the chance to learn more about career options in their major as well as receive advice from the recruiters. Alumni who are seeking fresh job prospects or a career change or are simply interested in networking opportunities also benefit from the fair,” Sayyid Dr Adham added. More than 30 employers in the private sector signed up for the Career Fair ranging from banks, educational institutions, leasing companies, information technology, oil and gas.
