An Asian national has been arrested in connection with five murders in the UAE. The Buraimi police arrested him.
An official source in the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said the Muscat division of Interpol received a communication from the UAE about the crime and the escape of the accused to an unknown destination. The suspect was arrested in Buraimi and handed over to the competent authorities in the UAE.
5 HELD FOR TRAFFICKING: Five Asian nationals were arrested by the Al Khoud police on charges of human trafficking.
According to the ROP source, the suspects would convince Asian domestic workers with financial rewards if they worked with them.
These workers were then forced into prostitution. The accused were referred to the judicial authorities.
3 ARRESTED FOR THEFT: Three people were arrested by the ROP on theft charges in Nizwa. The accused stole RO 5,000 from a shop and a vehicle parked before the shop. On questioning, they confessed to having committed four more thefts. The ROP said 118 suspects were arrested in November in connection with 113 cases of theft committed in various governorates of the Sultanate.
