MUSCAT, Jan 30 - The Sultanate has been making pain-staking efforts to preserve many of its customs and traditions. The camel owners in Al Musannah will celebrate the 10th edition of ‘Mahara’ festival for camel parade. The festival will be held during weekends on Friday and Saturday. The two-day festival will include series of activities namely traditional art songs and participation of poets.
Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed al Shuhi, Minister of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, will be chief guest in presence of a number of officials of government institutions in the governorate and individuals who support the festival and those who are interested in the camel races and parade activities.
“We are predicting participation of huge number of camel owners at this edition of ‘Mahara’ festival. The organising committee arranged many prizes and awards for the top winners,” Saleem Mohammed al Shabibi, chairman of organising committee of the festival, said.
