The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), represented by Suhar Industrial City, is all set to organise the Omani Products Exhibition at China Downtown Mall in Suhar next Monday under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Nader bin Mohammed al Said. The exhibition is being held as part of the Sultanate’s Industry Day, commemorating the visit of His Majesty the Sultan to Rusayl Industrial City on February 9, 1991.
Forty-five companies will participate in the exhibition that will continue until February 13. This exhibition has been organised along the lines of the ‘Made in Oman’ Campaign, which kicked off in 2008 as a national initiative to promote Omani products in cooperation with various public and private bodies.
The campaign targets consumers in the local and foreign markets to encourage them to support and purchase the locally manufactured products. Managed by Madayn, in cooperation with various public and private bodies, the campaign endeavours to increase confidence in the locally manufactured products, enable consumers to make an informed choice of Omani products in their purchasing lists, and shed light on the quality of these products.
The core aspects of the campaign’s objectives emphasise on engendering national pride; encouraging consumers both individuals and organisations to choose locally manufactured products and services; underscoring the competent capabilities of the Omani products to compete locally and internationally; and emphasising the importance of buying Omani products and its direct contribution to the national economy.
