MUSCAT: The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), with the sponsorship of Oman Post Company and the Best Solution Company, organised the annual letter-writing competition for youth.

The competition is launched by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) as a way of encouraging literacy and developing competition–writing skills for ages up to 15 years old.

TRA coordinated earlier with the Ministry of Education to spread the competition all over the Sultanate’s schools. The number of winning pupils across the regions of Oman was 34. Cash rewards were awarded to the first three positions in each governorate and the best composition letter was written by Yaqeen bint Said al Oufiyah from Al Dakhiliyah enabling her to represent the Sultanate in this international competition.

The competition is organised annually by the UPU for member states. The Sultanate participates in the competition every year as the competition is circulated to all schools. — ONA
