MUSCAT, JULY 5 -

With the aim of boosting relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Korea, Doho Kang, Korean Ambassador to the Sultanate, yesterday visited the headquarters of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat.

The Korean ambassador was received by Hilal bin Hamad al Hasani, CEO of PEIE, who briefed the ambassador on the vision, mission and objectives of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates.

Al Hasani highlighted the various industrial estates that fall under the umbrella of PEIE throughout the Sultanate in addition to the Knowledge Oasis Muscat and Al Mazunah Free Zone.

Al Hasani underscored the vision of PEIE, which is to enhance the Sultanate’s position as a leading regional centre of manufacturing, ICT, innovation and entrepreneurship excellence, and its mission in attracting industrial investments and providing continued support, through regionally and globally competitive strategies, good infrastructure, value adding services, and easy governmental processes.

The ambassador was also acquainted with the objectives of PEIE, which include attracting foreign investments to the Sultanate and localising the national capital, stimulating the role of the private sector in supporting sustainable economic and social development, contributing to job creation, encouraging exports and the establishment of export industries, increasing the market share of locally manufactured products.
