The water front in the Ayn Khor area of Salalah is not safe for swimming, the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulances (PACDA) has warned. It said despite warnings and repeated drowning incidents, some people are continuing to endanger themselves and their children by swimming in the area. A nine-year boy was recently rescued by PACDA in the area in a critical condition. However, visitors to the area feel there are not enough warning signs at the beaches of Salalah. They also sought more patrol personnel for guiding tourists. Held for drifting: A motorist was arrested by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) for drifting in the lush green areas of Salalah after videos and photographs showing him in action went viral on social media. The vehicle was also seized.
