Karate Academy tournament in Nizwa concludes

NIZWA, APRIL 30 - The Karate Academy in Oman concluded its fifth tournament that was organised by Hay Al Tourath Centre in Nizwa with the participation of 263 players of various belts from the yellow belt to the black belt. They competed for two full days in the morning and evening. The tournament was sanctioned by the International Federation of Karate and was dedicated to free duel competitions. It witnessed the good performance of the players and the high level of competition reflected the quality and excellence of the academy.


It also witnessed a significant presence of parents, followers and audiences from various governorates of the Sultanate.


The closing ceremony was held at the Nizwa Club Sports Hall under the auspices of Eng Khalfan bin Saleh al Naabi, Member of the State Council and President of Nizwa Club.


The closing ceremony was attended by Nizwa Club members, parents and followers of karate. The ceremony saw a number of activities started by coach Ahmed al Mawali reading the Holy Quran. The tournament’s supervisor, coach Matar bin Khalfan al Kindi, in his welcoming speech, praised the efforts made to develop karate, expressing his sincere thanks to all of them for their cooperation, which was evident through the high level of the tournament.


Then they launched the anthem for the leaders of the Karate Academy, whose words were written by coach Moosa bin Obaid al Atabi, and sang by the coach Matar bin Khalfan al Kindi and coach Khalid bin Juma al Jabri. This was followed by a visual show about the academy.


After that, Eng Khalfan al Naabi shook hands with the referees and the members of the organising committees. He then distributed the medals and championship cups to the winners of the competitions. The president of the academy, Said bin Hamad al Hashami, presented a commemorative to the sponsor of the closing ceremony.
