Jobs for Omani youths hailed

MUSCAT: Majlis Ash’shura stressed the importance of the content of the statement of the Council of Ministers yesterday which included providing 25,000 jobs for Omani job seekers as part of the continuous interest accorded by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos to the Omani youths.


Shaikh Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura, said that this initiative came in line with the demands of the current stage and in a bid to meet the demands of the current stage and keeping pace with the youths’ needs to have job opportunities, especially at the private sector. He affirmed the continuous interest of Majlis Ash’shura in this issue.


He pointed out that the study prepared by Majlis Ash’shura’s Youth and Human Resources committee on challenges of Omanisation at the leading and supervisory positions at the private sector.


He added that the study, which has been approved by Majlis Ash’shura, highlighted the status of Omanisation at the leading and supervisory positions in this sector to enable the Omani youths to lead the private sector in the future.


The study provided a number of proposals that help in creating new job opportunities. The study also diagnosed the challenges facing Omanisation of these jobs.


The Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura called upon private sector organisations to play a bigger role in the employment of job seekers and provide the healthy work environment that attracts youths to this vital sector.


He stressed the importance of smooth sharing of knowledge to Omanis during a specified period of time that are compatible with the nature of these jobs. — ONA
