Dec 28: Ithraa, the sultanate’s inward investment and export development agency, launched Briefings from Oman at an event held on Tuesday evening at Muscat’s Grand Hyatt Hotel.

The five briefings aim to inform and encourage debate around Oman’s manufacturing, logistics, tourism, agriculture and fisheries and waste management sectors.

Speaking at the launch, Sayyid Faisal al Said (pictured), Director General of Investment Promotion explained: “Developed for prospective investors, those looking to do business in the sultanate, and anyone interested in learning more about Oman’s evolving economic base, each briefing considers a single sector. With thought-provoking content, the five Briefings offer an instant grounding in core issues.

Information-rich, they present key facts and explore emerging trends in a way can be readily understood, that make up each of these important sectors.”

The Briefings not only provide sector information but are also designed to ignite curiosity about manufacturing, tourism, agriculture and fisheries, logistics and the circular economy.

In this regard, each Briefing includes a series of thinking points and a guide to inward investment procedures as well as relevant sector contacts.

And to help the reader engage with the content design plays a crucial role with infographics used to help distil complex issues.

“We hope the Briefings from Oman series inspire people to think about the sectors we have covered in a different way. One of our goals was to help paint a contemporary and upbeat picture of these important industries.

They are, if you will, an important economic storytelling project. To make sure as many people as possible are aware of them and their contents we will make full use of social media and also promote them through a series of high-profile events,” added Sajda al Ghaithi, Ithraa’s Media Director.

The Briefings will be offered free-of-charge and distributed to Omani embassies, ministries, foreign trade missions, at international trade shows, B2B meetings, as well as to schools, colleges and companies across the Sultanate.

They are also available for download from: www.ithraa.om/briefings
