SALALAH, MAY 7 - Candidates appearing for SAT examinations from Dhofar Governorate can choose the Indian School Salalah (ISS) as their centre, according to the Board of Directors of Indian Schools. The SAT, also known as Scholastic Aptitude Test or Scholastic Assessment Test, is a standardised test widely used for college admissions. It tests writing, critical reading and mathematics skills of the candidates for admissions to undergraduate programmes of universities and colleges. Hay al Sharooq International School (HASIS), Indian School Darsait (ISD), International School of Oman and The International School of Choueifat are some of the centres in Muscat and elsewhere. “This is a moment of pride for all Indian schools as this is the first time in history of our schools that this school is getting a recognition that can alleviate the troubles of many children who have to otherwise travel thousands of kilometres for the same,” C M Najeeb, Vice-Chairman of the BoD told the Observer.
