MUSCAT: Indian School Al Ghubra, took part in the Annual Science India Fiesta — 2017 organised by the Science India Forum, Muscat under the auspices of Indramani Pandey, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate, in association with Vijnana Bharati.
Many competitions such as skit, quiz, exhibition, debate, digital symposium, photography, on the spot projects and teacher presentation were held to inspire children to explore the world of Science.
Teams from Indian schools vied with each other for top honours. The ISG team came first in the Skit competition on the theme ‘Space technology for human benefit’.
In the quiz competition, the Junior Quiz team of ISG comprising Advait Menon, Bhavesh Nair and Nivedita Jayaram won the Second Prize. Nitu Andrews won the Second Prize in the Debate competition for Juniors. Reshmi Hari, teacher in the Department of Science of ISG, came first in the ‘teacher presentation’ segment for her talk on ‘innovation in space technology’.
The closing ceremony was held at Al Falaj Hotel. Pandey delivered the inaugural address while the chief guest, Padma Bhushan Dr Sivathanu Pillai, senior scientist and former Chief Controller of R&D of DRDO was the keynote speaker.
