MUSCAT: The ISC-Minara Music Festival 2017, organised by Indian Social Club Oman, ended with grand finale held at Millennium Hotel on November 25. Renowned Indian singer, songwriter and upcoming Bollywood music composer Ami Mishra was the guest of honour at the finals.

Dr Sathish Nambiar, Chairman of the Indian Social Club, welcomed the guests and thanked the efforts put in by the parents and the children to make the event a real success.

The competition is being held in various events of 5 to 8 years, 9 to 12 years, 13 to 17 years, 18 and above years, for duet vocal and light vocal in addition to the group song. It is one of the most accepted popular events designed to identify and promote musical genres and recognise musical talents and soloists from Indian diaspora residing in Oman. We got a large number of entries this year especially in the classical and light vocal. We did our best to get the finest results in the performance.

Guest of honour Ami Mishra sang few songs at the end and enthralled the audience. Babu Rajendran, General Secretary, gave vote of thanks. He acknowledged the efforts and support of Areej Vegetable Oil & Derivatives and Prem Maker in particular over the years towards this competition. Shakeel K M, Joint Cultural Secretary, thanked the judges, staff and volunteers for sparing their valuable time and conducting the show seamlessly and smoothly. Saji Abraham, Cultural Secretary, delivered the introductory speech.
