MUSCAT: A delegation from the Jabir bin Hayan Medical University of the Republic of Iraq, visited Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) on Sunday and was received by Dr Ali bin Saud al Bimani, Vice- Chancellor of SQU. The two sides exchanged scientific and practical experiences, highlighted the college of Medicine and Health Sciences, its departments, curricula, teaching methods and techniques, including the anatomical and practical laboratories, medical departments, simulation laboratory, clinical skills and other sections of teaching. The delegation visited the University’s Teaching Hospital and met with some faculty members. It is worth noting that Jabir bin Hayan Medical University is one of the first specialized universities in Iraq. It is interested in medical science of all kinds. Its first college, College of Medicine, was established in 2013-2014. The university plans to open four colleges: medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and nursing, in addition to a large university hospital. — ONA
