IPA Board reviews strategic plan

MUSCAT: The Board of Directors of the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) held a meeting under the chairmanship of Shaikh Khalid bin Omar al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service and Chairman of IPA Board of Directors. The board reviewed the agenda for the first meeting of 2017, which included a number of items like the IPA Strategic Plan 2020 and a report on the activities of the Institute during the 2016 training year and other items.


The meeting focused on the discussion of the Institute’s strategic plan document, which included a description of the stages of analysing the current situation, identifying key issues, benchmarking, identifying and analysing gaps, and drawing up future scenarios for the strategic plan.


The board reviewed the Institute’s report to the Civil Service Council on the activities of the Institute during the 2016 training year, the efforts made to meet the training needs of the administrative staff of the State at different administrative levels, indicators of the performance of the Institute in the field of management consulting to contribute to the management development and improve the institutional performance in governmental and private sectors of the Sultanate and research activity, which reflected a remarkable achievement of the Institute during the past year, in quantity or quality.


The Council also reviewed a number of proposals for the development of the Institute’s work, including the establishment of a department to prepare and implement marketing plans for the Institute’s various activities inside and outside the Sultanate, and to take appropriate decisions and recommendations. — ONA
