MUSCAT: An international photography exhibition on Islamic culture will start at the headquarters of the Omani Photographic Society (OPS) of the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science (SQHCCS) on Wednesday under the theme “One Girdle, One Route.” It will be opened by Dr Salim bin Shutait al Ghanmi, Director-General of Medical Services at the Diwan of Royal Court. The exhibition features a distinct collection of images that reflect the Islamic culture of Asia, Africa, Europe and America. The exhibition will also include an introductory seminar on China, the introduction of Ningxia International Photography Exhibition on Muslim customs.

The exhibition aims to promote cooperation among Islamic countries and to show the different religious characteristics, customs and traditions of Islamic countries, in comparison to non-Muslim countries, in terms of worshipping, behaviour and common features that reflect the lives of people in Islamic countries. The exhibition will be travelling to some Islamic countries located along the Silk Route, in addition to other sites, including Oman, which is one of the most important stations for its strategic geographical location. — ONA
