Interactive talk on education in future vision ‘Oman 2040’ held

Muscat: An interaction session titled ‘Education Sector Within Future Vision Oman 2040’ was organised by the Ministry of Education, represented by the Department of Citizenship.


The session was held under the patronage of Dr Hamoud bin Khalfan al Harthy, Under-Secretary of Education and Curriculum, at the Ministry of Education headquarters on Tuesday.


It was attended by representatives of the Future Vision Office (Oman 2040) of the Supreme Council of Planning and officials from the Ministry of Education.


The discussion was aimed at reviewing Future Vision ‘Oman 2040’ and the important recommendations of the Future Foresight Forum (FFF).


It was also aimed at discussing the main elements of the education sector within Oman Vision 2040.


The session began with a presentation by Dr Yousef bin Hamad al Balushi, an economic expert at Future Vision Office ‘Oman 2040’.


He reviewed the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.


Members of the Future Vision Office (Oman 2040) gave a brief summary of the roles of main committee as well as other committees.


Dr Badr bin Hamoud al Kharousi, Director-General of Human Resources Development at the Ministry of Education and a representative of Human and Society Committee in the Future Vision Office ‘Oman 2040’, spoke about the future developments in the education sector and the importance of pre-school education. He also spoke about the challenges facing education sector.


After the discussion, the audience had an opportunity to engage in an interactive discussion with the participants.
