Indian killed after vehicle overturns

Muscat, July 26 - An expatriate was killed when a delivery van he was travelling overturned on Sleem Soad in Marmul, some 800 km from capital Muscat, on Tuesday night, said sources close to the deceased.


The vehicle hit a camel and overturned several times, they said. The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Ali Poyil (50), from Kozhikode district in the Indian state of Kerala.


The vehicle driver and Mohammed, both employees of a bakery in Barka, were on their way to Salalah, when the incident occurred. The driver, who sustained injuries, is recovering at the Royal Hospital in Salalah, said the Royal Oman Police (ROP) sources.
