Housing ministry grants 19,000 plots to citizens

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Housing granted more than 19,000 multiple use land plots to citizens at various governorates and wilayats in the Sultanate.


A ministry report said South Al Batinah topped the list in terms of the number of plots granted to citizens with 5,079 followed by Al Dakhiliyah 4,260 and North Al Sharqiyah 2,794.


A total of 134,000 title deeds were issued between January and July this year, said the report.


The value of the traded real estate contracts during the period was RO 1.618 billion. Fees collected stands at RO 84,903,000 through 71,411 transactions.


The value of real estate sale transactions during the period stood at RO 701,334,000 and the collected fees RO 26,931,000, said the report.


It said out of a total of 35,506 real estate sale transactions, North Al Batinah recorded the maximum with 7,385 followed by Muscat with 6,508. — ONA
