Hong Kong China crush Afghanistan, Bangladesh have it easy

Hong Kong China crushed a clueless Afghanistan team 19-1 in their Pool A match of the men’s hockey Asian Games Qualifiers at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Friday.


Kin-Kan Tsang was the highest goalscorer with four goals in the 4th, 13th, 19th and 40th minutes of the match. Felix Chi Him Iu slammed three goals sounding the board in the 14th, 34th and 47th minutes.


Chi Wai Yu (25th, 33rd), Chun Hin Yu (18th), Kwun Wa Chuen (29th), Angus Chan (54th, 56th), Ching Ho (12th, 38th, 55th), Shung-Yin Kam (16th, 52nd) and Chung Ming Siu (6th) were the other goalscorers.


Abdul Achekzai scored the only consolation goal for Afghanistan in the 15th minute.


BANGLADESH BEAT THAILAND


In the day’s second Pool A match, Bangladesh thumped Thailand 5-0.


Bangladesh’s goals came through Sarower Hussain (14th), Hasan Jubair (27th), Milon Hussain (35th), Roman Sarkar (47th) and Mamunur-Rahman Chayan (51st).
