HM gets message from Hollande

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos received a written message from President Francois Hollande of France. The message was received by His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, when he received on Sunday Jack Lang, President of the Arab World Institute in Paris.


During the meeting, the French guest conveyed the greetings of President Hollande to His Majesty the Sultan, along with his best wishes of success to His Majesty and the Omani people further progress and prosperity. HH Sayyid Fahd commended the existing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and the progress being witnessed by these relations in various spheres, thanks to the joint keenness of both sides to enhance them.


HH Sayyid Fahd stressed the importance of the Arab World Institute’s role in encouraging the cultural cooperation at different arenas, as well as activating communication between France and the Arab world.


The conversation during the meeting dealt with means of supporting the joint cooperation areas, in addition to exchanging viewpoints on a number of current international issues. HH Sayyid Fahd asked the French guest to convey the greetings and best wishes of His Majesty the Sultan to President Hollande and wishing the friendly people of France further progress. The meeting was attended by Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, and Roland Dubertrand, Ambassador of France to the Sultanate. — ONA
