MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos has received cables of greetings from dignitaries on the occasion of Eid al Adha. Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council, in his cable, said: “Your Majesty, may Allah the Almighty protect you. On behalf of the members and employees of the State Council it is an honour to express our sincere greetings and best wishes on the occasion of Eid al Adha, praying to the Almighty for many returns of this auspicious occasion and similar ones, while the Omani people and the Islamic nation enjoy blessings and bounties.
“Your Majesty, the Islamic nation receives Eid al Adha which demonstrates the values of sacrifice, unity and equality as the pilgrims converge in Mina and the holy places in a scene that manifests a noble aim and great values that are needed by the Arab and Islamic nation at present time to achieve reconciliation.
“Your Majesty, the greatest bounties Allah the Almighty has bestowed on this dear nation are peace and tolerance. Since old ages the Omani society has been tolerant and cooperative with others and the Renaissance, led by Your Majesty, has further reinforced those values and virtues.
“On this day we pray to the Almighty to safeguard our country and all the Islamic states and to return this auspicious occasion and similar one while Your Majesty enjoys bounties and happiness.”
In his cable, Shaikh Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura, said: “Your Majesty Sultan Qaboos, may Allah protect you. On behalf of the members and employees of Majlis Ash’shura it is my honour to express our sincere greetings and best wishes on the occasion of the blessed Eid al Adha, praying to Allah the Almighty to accept your good deeds and prayers and grant you good health and long life.
“In these blessed days we supplicate to Allah to help the pilgrims perform the Haj rites easily and return home safely and to accept their good deeds. “Your Majesty, we promise you to exert more effort and sincerity at work and to follow your wise approach of serious partnership with the government for the present and the future of Oman and to be loyal to this dear nation and its achievements and values in order that the loyal people of Oman enjoy more prosperity and welfare under your wise leadership.
“We pray to the Almighty to grant you success. We pray for many returns of the occasion while Your Majesty, your people and the Arab and Islamic nations enjoy bounties, stability and well-being.”
His Majesty also received a cable of greetings from Sayyid Badr bin Saud al Busaidy, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, on the occasion.
In his cable, Sayyid Badr said: “Your Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, May Allah the Almighty protect you. In this atmosphere of spirituality and in this great and sacred day, the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, the pilgrims are being the guests of God and on Mount Arafat their hearts are wrapped in mercy and tranquillity.
“Your Majesty, with the advent of Eid al Adha it is an honour for me and your courageous armed forces and all the affiliates of the ministry of defence to express our sincere congratulations and best wishes to Your Majesty on this blessed occasion praying to the Almighty to keep you as the commander and Sultan of Oman.
“Your Majesty the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, your triumphant armed forces and all the affiliates of the ministry of defence receive this Eid with security and serenity.
“The Eid inspires strong belief, determination, patience and loyalty to your inspirational leadership and wise directives. We renew our pledge of allegiance and loyalty to Your Majesty and to continue to obey your wise orders confirming our determination to protect this dear nation and the achievements which occurred during your flourishing rule.
“May Allah the Almighty protect Your Majesty and grant you victory, bounty and well-being.”
In his cable, Lt Gen Hassan bin Mohsin al Shraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs, said: “Your Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Supreme Commander, may Allah the Almighty protect you. It is my honour to express our congratulations to Your Majesty on behalf of all police affiliates praying to the Almighty to return the occasion, while Your Majesty and the loyal Omani people enjoy blessings.
“Your Majesty, in these blessed days while Muslims answer the call of Allah the Almighty and mention Him and thank Him for the many bounties He bestowed on them, the people of Oman recall the boons Allah the Almighty has granted to them and perceive the divine purposes.
“We thank Allah the Almighty for all His bounties hoping that Your Majesty get the divine reward for your constant endeavours to serve your people.
“Your Majesty, what doubles the happiness for the police affiliates is the sharing of the Eid gladness from their duty locations and their sincerity in performing their duties so that everyone feels the security which the country is enjoying thanks to Your Majesty’s wisdom.
