MUSCAT: The first meeting of the Coordination and Follow-up Committee for Al Dhahirah Health Services was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Dr Darweesh Saif al Maharbi, Ministry of Health Under-Secretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs.
The meeting aims at following up the progress of work regarding the provision of healthcare at the Governorate of Al Buraimi as well as discussing the challenges that encountered the Directorate of Health Services in the implementation of technical and administrative works.
The meeting included in its membership the Director-General of the Governorate’s Health Services, Director of Al Buraimi Referral Hospital, Director of Primary Health Care, Director of Administrative Affairs, Director of Financial Affairs, Director of Nursing, in addition to the Director of the Governorate Planning and Studies.
A spectrum of topics were explored during the meeting most important of which were identifying the committee’s duties and specialties, in addition to reviewing the governorate’s health services statue and indicators along with the primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare services. Furthermore, the developmental strategic plans were reviewed during the meeting. It is worth to mention that the formation of the Governorates’ Coordination and Follow-up Committees came under a Ministerial Decision, stipulating that the meetings should be chaired over by the MoH under-secretaries as well as the MoH adviser for health affairs.
