HARMAN International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, last week launched its Alexa voice assistant-based speaker, ‘Harman Kardon Allure’, in India. The speaker is priced at Rs 22,490 and is available for Prime customers on Amazon.in

First unveiled at the IFA Berlin Show in August this year, Harman Kardon Allure is one of the first third-party speakers that run on Amazon’s voice assistant.

“Ever since its launch at IFA, we have seen tremendous interest and demand for the ‘Harman Kardon Allure’ from our Indian customers,” Sumit Chauhan, Vice-President, Lifestyle Audio Division, Harman India, said.

This hands-free speaker is powered by Amazon “Alexa Voice Service”. The device can be connected to “Alexa” through Wi-Fi to provide information, place an order, play music, among others.

Users in India can enable over 11,000 skills on “Harman Kardon Allure”, the company claimed. Just like Amazon Echo devices, Harman Kardon Allure users can access content across sectors like Travel (Uber, Ola, Goibibo, Jet Airways), order Food and hear recipes (Faasos, Box8, Freshmenu, Zomato, Tarla Dalaal), get Sports & Entertainment updates (Amazon Prime Music, Saavn, ESPNCricinfo, Bollywood Hungama), Home Services (UrbanClap, Housejoy).

Users can also control their Smart Home, consisting devices such as smart bulbs from Syska, Phillips, and Silvan with their voice. Place it anywhere and the speaker will be able to fill any space with refined and powerful 360-degree Harman Kardon sound, it added. The device sports 360-degree ambient lighting design that reacts to voice commands and moves along with the rhythm of the music.
