MUSCAT, June 4 - The Oman national football team’s most loyal and famous fan Hamed al Mukhaini passed away on Sunday after suffering from illness for a few years. Mukhaini was the cheerleader for the fans of the Oman national team during the Arabian Gulf Cups of 2007 in Qatar and 2008 in UAE and celebrated when the team won the title in 2009. Mukhaini has a sort of iconic status with the Red Warriors’ fans. The Al Suwaiq man was famous for chanting songs in praise of Oman and the national football team and some of them became very popular with all fans. Al Mukhaini was recognised for wearing a unique style of cap that was made like a replica of the Al Sahwa Park.
