Nearly two years after Omani singer Haitham Mohammad Rafi took the inaugural title at the Indian Television Show Dil Hai Hindustani, he’s back at it again but this time mesmerising the live audience of Ukraine.
Since Haitham has become a household name in the Sultanate and his voice attracting crowds to events across the country, Haitham, has yet again, left his home soil and taken off to the international stage to compete in the ninth season of “The Voice of Ukraine” after impressing a panel of judges (yet again) during blind auditions.
Singing his rendition of “Habibi”, he gained a lot of praise from the panel of judges and was selected to compete as a part of Moldovan singer and Grammy nominee Dan Balan’s team.
On the Show’s official Instagram, it stated “Despite the fact that he was born and lives in Oman, Haitham is fascinated by Ukrainian culture and its music. One day, he had accidentally found an episode of the “The Voice of Ukraine and was so impressed, he began watching the whole season. The opportunity to get into the project is his greatest dream.”
On Haitham’s personal Instagram, his excitement to be a part of this show was obvious in a post where he said, “Salam Walikum hello everyone, thank you Ukraine & thank you for the voice. And thanks for Dan Balan, I’m so happy to join Dan Balan team. Thank you all for everything.”
Rafi is expected to demonstrate his vocal repertoire in the next episodes and fans are eagerly anticipating for him to demonstrate his perfect renditions of songs in all three languages — Arabic, English, and Hindi.
The Voice of Ukraine is the second international adaptation of The Voice franchise which had its start in the United States.
Rafi will have to go through five different stages namely: the producers’ auditions, Blind auditions, Battle phase, Knockout stage and live shows and each stage harder than the previous one.
