Wadi Bani Khalid: Shoppers turned up in large numbers as the Eid al Fitr Habta markets opened in the Sultanate in Wadi Bani Khalid, Ibri and Rustaq on Friday. In other places, the markets will open on Saturday. Habta markets are traditional markets that are held on the occasion of Eid al Fitr and Eid al Adha in the open or under the shade of trees near castles and forts. At Habta markets, which usually begin on the 24th day of the holy month of Ramadhan, stockbreeders display their animals. Other traders sell toys, halwa, spices, fruits, utensils and clothes for the festival. — ONA
