Govt to curb trading from home on social media

MUSCAT, MAR 07: Stacking goods at home and selling them online or social media like Instagram and Faceebook without necessary commercial certifications will soon be a story of the past.


The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) is planning to curb the illegal online trade which is posing a threat to the registered commercial establishments.


“We are aware of this sort of unlawful online trade which is against the trade and commercial policies of the country and is against the interest of those operating in legal means”, a senior official at the concerned department at the MoCI told the observer.
