MUSCAT: Omani go kart racer Shihab Ahmed al Habsi will get support through the Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) initiative as a support and sponsorship agreement was signed by Dhofar Automotive LLC on Tuesday.
The agreement comes as part of the OOC programme to provide sponsorship to sports persons in tie up with the private sector establishments.
The deal was signed at the OOC headquarters on behalf of Dhofar Automotive LLC by its General-Manager Rhett Maxwell and Shihab Ahmed al Habsi.
“Dhofar Automotive LLC pays considerable attention to sponsorship of Omani young talents, particularly in the field of sports, the aim being to contribute to boosting the Sultanate’s profile in international arenas. Go kart is one of the engine sports constituting the first step for our future karting champions. Dhofar Automotive has taken keen interest in sponsoring the international go kart racer, Shihab al Habsi, who is expected to be an engine race champion in the future following the significant results and triumphs he has recently achieved in world championships,” said Dhofar Automotive General-Manager Rhett Maxwell.
