Galfar order-book at RO 471m

Galfar Engineering and Contracting SAOG, a publicly traded Omani firm, says it has achieved an order-book of RO 471 million as of June 30, 2018, boosted by a raft of oil and gas contracts.


Despite delays in the bidding and award process, Galfar bagged fresh orders of RO 76 million in addition to extensions and variations awards amounting to RO 42 million in the first half of 2018, Majid bin Salim al Araimi, Chairman, said.


Notable was the ‘Khazzan Gas Gathering System’ worth RO 35 million from BP Oman, besides a number of contracts related to Utilities and Services, he stated.


Profit after tax rose from 0.3 per cent in the first half of 2017 to 1.8 per cent in the first half of this year, he said.


Revenues generated by the parent company dipped to RO 131.24 million in H1 2018, down from RO 145.06 in H1 2017. Net profit after tax, however, surged to RO 2.371 million


this year, up from RO 0.399 million in H1 2017.
