SALALAH, April 23 - The local committee of Gadaow Niyabat organised an event to honour students who have outstanding performance in various school activities. Shaikh al Waleed bin Said al Hinai, Director-General of Education in Dhofar Governorate, education officials and local dignitaries were present on the occasion. The local committee has been recognising meritorious students for the last three years. The initiative, according to a committee member, is bearing good results as participation every year is becoming bigger and the parents’ feedback is very encouraging.
A road safety exhibition organised on the sidelines of the event, evoked good response from the students. The visiting dignitaries were surprised to know that most of the exhibits, including photos and videos showing traffic safety awareness, were made by the Gadaow school students. Poetry recitation and traditional dances were performed on the occasion, while the event concluded after honouring the students, teachers and parents. The companies and institutions which helped in the success of the event were also feted on the occasion.
