MUSCAT: The Future Foresight Forum, part of Oman 2040 Vision, will begin today under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tareq al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture, and Chairman of the Main Committee of Oman 2040 Vision, at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Oman 2040 Vision is a national programme ordered by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, through which experts come together to prepare an advanced vision for Oman in 2040 in a highly competent manner.
The forum will see international speakers and the participants will encompass Omani youth, private sector, entrepreneurs in addition to the government officials.
Around 300 specialists and experts are attending the forum. Under discussion will be varying topics such as political geography, international affairs and economic transformation, information and communication technology, information technology and human capital, future of transformation of oil and renewable energies, transformation of energy and petrochemicals, scarcity of resources, future of cities and governance, the future of public, private sector and civil society.
The forum will raise awareness on Oman’s future issues and the results from this forum will be the highlight for the workshop titled ‘Future Scenario Workshop’ to be held on December on 12, 13.
