Saham, July 26 - The summer programme at Wahi Al Ma’arefah School’s Sciences and Skills Centre in Wilayat Saham has concluded.

The month-long programme, held under the auspices of Dr Mohammed bin Shamis al Hosni, Adviser to the Minister of Education, recently saw a mix of educational workshops, competitions

and visits to tourist attractions in the wilayat.

For the local children, it was an opportunity to make the most of their summer vacation.

Hussain al Saidi, Head of the Sciences and Skills Centre, said: “Children have a long summer break, often with very little to do in terms of their personal development. As part of our responsibility to the local community, we came up with the idea of an interesting and educational summer programme for children.”

The programme, Al Saidi said, was structured to help participants discover and nurture talent, build self-confidence, engage in recreational activities, and learn new things in a fun way.

“The summer programme has been welcomed by parents who see the benefits of keeping their children engaged in productive learning activities that help them in their all-round development. Children learn a lot of things of value at these summer camps,” he added.
