France grants SAF chief National Order of the Legion of Honour

MUSCAT: The French Government granted Lt Gen Ahmed bin Harith al Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) National Order of the Legion of Honour (French: Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur), Commander Rank, in recognition of his role in enhancing military cooperation between the Sultanate and the friendly French Republic. On behalf of the French government, the order was handed over to him on Wednesday at the French Embassy premises by Renaud Salins, the accredited Ambassador of the French Republic to the Sultanate. The French Ambassador conveyed the greetings and good wishes of the French Government to Lt.Gen SAF Chief of Staff and hailed the efforts made by SAF Chief of Staff to develop the bilateral relations on the military level and serving the close bilateral relations on the strategic level.


On his part, SAF Chief of Staff expressed his thanks to the French Government represented by the French Defence Headquarters for granting him Legion of Honour which translates the good bilateral relations and the growth in cooperation in the different fields including the military one. It should be noted that The Legion of Honour, full name, National Order of the Legion of Honour (French: Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur), is the highest French order of merit for military and civil merits, established in 1802 by Napoléon Bonaparte. It is granted to French and Foreign military personnel and civilians who provide great services in cooperation with the French Republic. — ONA
