Four IT start-ups ready to enter market

Muscat, Dec 31 - The Information Technology Authority (ITA) has celebrated the graduation of 3rd batch of the incubated SMEs from Sas Center for Entrepreneurship, in the presence of of Dr Salim Al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA, at Knowledge Oman Oasis, Muscat, on Monday.
So far, Sas Center for Entrepreneurship incubated 64 emerging companies in various IT fields, and their overall revenues reached more than RO 3.5 million and offered more than 350 job opportunities for the Omani youth.
The four companies are Circle Software which is specialised in designing and developing enterprise software including open source, web, and mobile applications. It builds both simple and informative applications and more complicated software solutions linked to databases and enterprise systems.
TelyPay is another startup graduating from the centre, which offers e-payment wallet that can be topped up using prepaid telecom credit. Another graduating company is Edlal Platform for knowledge and skills development through eLearning through courses delivered by Omani specialists and experts in various fields. The fourth graduating company is Tekween which is specialised in providing IT solutions and services including IT consultancy and strategic planning for IT projects, software and system development as well as offering specialised IT training and workshops in various IT fields.
On the occasion, Hamood Dawood Alhamdan, Director, Sas Centre for Entrepreneurship at ITA, said: “After 3 years of incubation period at Sas Center for Entrepreneurship, today we are proud to graduate four new and promising SMEs in the ICT field which will move on to the Omani market with full confidence and reasonable experience. During the incubation period, they received a number of supporting services and facilities offered by the centre such as specialised IT training, management and entrepreneurship, human resources management, accounting and finance, legal consultancies and marketing.”
Sas for Entrepreneurship was established in March, 2013, and aims at developing ICT field in the Sultanate through encouraging entrepreneurship and incubating the emerging projects in different areas of this vital sector.
