A number of educational institutions in the United States, Austria and Malaysia are now in the Ministry of Higher Education’s list of “recommended” higher educational institutions. The Committee for the Recognition of Non-Omani Higher Education Institutions and the Equivalence of Educational Qualifications, at its second meeting, decided to include these institutions in the recommended list. It decided to include Southern Utah University in the US, provided the study is full time and at the institution’s campus. It also approved the University of Maine in the US. The study should be in the institution’s main campus and as per regulations approved by the ministry. The Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences was also approved provided the study is in its main campus. It agreed to approve SEGI College Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia provided the study is full time and at the college’s campus. The programme should also be accredited by Malaysian Accreditation Authority.
