The foggy conditions that Oman has been experiencing since Sunday will continue for two more days, the Met Office has said. The fog is expected to be severe and the visibility lower than that witnessed on Sunday. The Met Office has asked motorists to be cautious when driving in some areas. The northeasterly wind blowing from Oman Sea with high content of humidity has been the cause of the fog formation. On December 27, mainly clear skies have been forecast over most of the country with chances of low-level clouds or fog patches over parts of the coastal areas of Oman Sea and over the governorates of Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, South al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar. The sea is expected to be calm along the coastal areas, but foggy. The wind speed is likely to be light to moderate. “If winds were strong, the fog would not have formed,” said the Met Office.
