First student forum held for schools in Izki

The first student forum of the schools of Izki entitled ‘Renewable Energy’, organised by the Board of Directors of the State Schools, was held in Izki school for basic education.
The meeting was attended by Younis bin Ali al Mantheri, member of the Majlis Ash’shura, representing the state of Izki, and Suleiman bin Abdullah al Salimi, Director-General of Education in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
The event began with recital of verses from the Holy Quran by Ayham bin Nasser al Hashami followed by show of gymnastics by the students.
Laila bint Ali al Amri, Director of Sima and Muqazah School, in her address said: “There is no doubt that the union is always a strength for its members and helps to unite, and provide the best for its employees, and produce ideas that help creativity, development and innovation. This was the idea of establishing a board of directors of the schools in the Wilayat of Izki in order to provide what is best for teachers, administrators, technicians and students.
“The idea is to provide specific programmes for state school employees that contribute to their professional and intellectual development. It also encourages the creative ideas of teachers and contributes to improving the level of achievement for students and gave attention to their talents, abilities and potential.
“This year we have developed a programme to take care of school students in order to take advantage of their free time in the middle of the year vacation in order to benefit them,” Al Amri added.
The event also included a poetry recital by poet Ibtesam bint Salim al Amri.
The attendees later visited the workshops and the exhibition which were held on the sidelines of the Forum.
The Director-General of Education in Al Dakhiliyah honoured the supporters and participants in the activities of the Forum.
The Forum will see activities planned to achieve the scientific benefit of renewable energy for students, wherein the students visited the Center of Science and Technology in the Directorate of Education in Al Dakhiliyah and a scientific trip to the University of Nizwa.
