First critically ill Covid-19 patient recovers as total cases reach 192

Muscat: The Royal Hospital has confirmed the recovery of the first critical case from Covid-19 disease, a 28-year-old man who was admitted to the intensive care unit.


He was discharged from the hospital after fully recovered from the disease, said a statement from the Ministry of Health.


The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Tuesday announced the registration of 13 new cases confirmed with Covid-19.


This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases registered in the Sultanate to 192.


The Ministry affirmed that 34 cases have totally recovered.


Region-wise, Muscat has 137 confirmed cases, followed by Al Dakhiliyah (17), North Batinah (17), South Batinah (9), Dhofar (8), Al Dhahirah (2)), South Sharqiyah (1) and Buraimi (1).


MOH calls upon all to adhere to the quarantine procedures.


The Ministry also advises all citizens and residents to keep on washing hands with water and soap, as well as avoiding touching the face, nose, mouth, and eyes and following the healthy habits when coughing and sneezing.


Full adherence to social distancing instructions issued by the Supreme Committee and the MOH is further required.
