MUSCAT: The Cultural Club will inaugurate today a fine art exhibition themed ‘Formation and Structures’ for the Lebanese artist Ghada Gamal, which will last until May 11. The exhibition is a new and different initiative in the fine arts through which the audience will learn about various Arabic musical pieces from the 19th and 20th century in harmony with the paintings displayed. As a distinct artistic creation, the paintings will be distributed in several groups. The first group consists of 15 paintings, on a canvas hanging next to each other in 3 rows as each row will include 5 paintings. The second group consists of 18 paintings inspired by the works by Jamil Bak al Tanbouri at the end of the 19th century. The series will be hung on the wall next to each other in 3 rows. Each row includes 6 paintings. The third group consists of 36 paintings. This series will be displayed by a DVD player that plays the paintings one by one. —  ONA
