Fees for establishing community clubs

By Zainab Al Nasseri — MUSCAT: April 10 - Shaikh Mohammed bin Said al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development, issued amendments to the law regulating establishment of community clubs. The ministerial resolution No 45/2017 which was issued at the end of last March, included a fee of RO 10 on applying for a licence to set up a community’s club or its branch.  Also, it imposed RO 300 on the issue of the licence which is due every time of renewal. Community clubs are social institutions with ongoing planning consisting of non-Omani members which intend to provide care for its members in the social, cultural and recreational areas without obtaining a financial gain, as well as to strengthening the bonds of friendship and love between the members of its community. In addition, it operates in accordance with the conditions and regulations adopted by the Ministry of Social Development. By the end of 2014, there were 11 clubs, 5 branches, and the total number of its members was 6,038.
