Exhibition highlights products of women entrepreneurs

SALALAH, JUNE 5 - Some entrepreneur families showcased their products like incense, perfumes, garments, homemade cosmetics at an exhibition here under the umbrella of Dhofar chapter of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) on Monday. The three-day exhibition was organised by Lamsa al Thani Exhibition with participation of more than 120 exhibitors, all belonging to small and medium enterprises (SME) category. Lamees bint Abdul Aziz al Ghassani, owner of Lamsa Exhibition, said such exhibition is a very good platform for those who are doing something productive at home and looking for market to sell their products.


“The exhibition has a wide range of exhibits and products and came at a time when people are preparing for Eid. All the exhibitors are getting good response due to very local touch and something made by their own community members. Here the customers have an opportunity to get their items customised also,” she said. She stressed that such exhibition is an encouragement to people and an opportunity to exchange new ideas with the fellow entrepreneurs.


“The participants showcased latest trends in the world of fashion, beauty and garment designing. Exhibition was an opportunity for all of them to promote and market their products and highlight their own distinctive talents.” Al Ghassani put stress on promoting work culture among families and enhancing the role of women through their direct participation in such events. Moreover, this is also an opportunity to promote local products with made in Oman tag. It is inspiring for other families to take part in productive enterprises, she added. On the humanitarian side, the exhibition has decided to donate part of the proceeds for the welfare of families affected by cyclone Mekunu.
